Thursday nite @ Myer's Fashion Event

Last Thursday, Myer held a fashion event to celebrate the addition  of 30 brand new labels like ARTHUR GALAN AG, TRUE RELIGION, SIMONA, BALMAIN and BRUNO MAGLI in their store. The event also witnessed the presence of former Miss Universe & Myer's Brand Ambassador, Jennifer Hawkins and some top Australian Designers like Charlie Brown, Manning Cartell, Fernando Frisoni, Wayne Cooper and more.  It was quite a dazzling event with fashion parades, refreshments and an opportunity  for shoppers to meet with designers for personal shopping and styling guide.

Here's few pictures from the event that is sourced from Myer's Facebook page(!/media/set/?set=a.205265629510669.44323.120199444683955) as I didn't have my camera on me to take pictures!

As I headed to the event after work, I couldn't catch much of the happenings but I did manage to watch some of the fashion parades and enjoy the refreshments. While most of the attendees  were busy chatting with designers and talking pictures with Jennifer Hawkins, I headed towards the make-up section for a  mini make-over at Elizabeth Arden counter. The make up artist used new ceramide collection from Elizabeth Arden  for my skincare and makeup. You can find out more about the collection here:
I am not doing a review about the products because I haven't been using it but I must say that I was very impressed with my final look. She used very subtle and neutral colors on me and the make up wasn't very heavy, my face looked radiant with a very nice glow....... see for yourself in the pictures below:)

Graduation and the shoes!!!

Years of hard work have paid off, now the time has arrived to celebrate your accomplishment and take that graduation walk. Graduation day is not only the time to celebrate your achievement and victory, it's also the time to dress up, look pretty and take lots of pictures; pictures that create memories for lifetime. It's one of the most memorable day of your life, hence it's really important to keep your attire simple & basic, yet chic & classy. Choosing the right shoe is equally important as choosing the right outfit or even more as shoes will be the point of focus while your outfit hides behind your gown. So what is this right shoes and where can you find it, the answer is very simple, it's either in your wardrobe or shopping mall. For me, I found mine in the shopping usual!
Black is not the only option when it comes to choosing a classic pair of shoes for your graduation. You can always play around with different shoe colours as it can make a difference when you walk the stage. You can try wearing shoes of contrast colours of your gown, like for black gown wear gold or tan, for blue gown wear fuchsia. My gown was black, so I opted for these leopard print pumps which are very much hot this season.
These classic and trendy pair of shoes can lift up any simple outfit without much effort and the best part is, they never go out of style or get boring. Though the heels are bit high, they are quite comfortable because of the thick platform. The key is to wear comfortable shoes as you'll be putting quite a bit of pressure on your feet, between standing, walking and posing for pictures all day long. Sky high heels aren't for everyone and your feet might get hurt after a while no matter how comfortable the shoes are. Now if you decide to go for heels, it might be a good idea to carry after party shoes like fold up flats to slip into something more comfortable when the need arises.
In any case celebrate your big day with the right shoes that will make you look stylish and keep your feet happy.
Congratulations and Happy Graduation!

A Beautiful Bride

With Royal Wedding  being the hottest topic this season, there is so much being talked about Kate Middleton's bridal look; her wedding dress, her make -up, her jewelry and everything else. Doesn't every bride want to look and/or be treated like a princess when she gets married to her prince charming, of course she does! While some do manage to look  like a princess on her wedding day, they never make it to the news for whatever reasons, an obvious reason being bride is not a celebrity, more precisely every bride is not a celebrity. Here's one such bride who looked like a fairytale princess  on her special day and she happens to be a very dear friend of mine; Keti Krekovic and now Mrs. Keti K. Splinter.

I wasn't able to attend  her wedding as I couldn't travel all  the way up to Florida from Sydney. But, when I saw her wedding pictures, I realized what I had missed. I was totally mesmerized with the way she managed to carry  herself as such a stunning and elegant bride. I said to myself,' she's got to be the most beautiful bride in a white gown I have ever seen', and this opinion hasn't changed even after witnessing  Kate Middleton's bridal avatar!

She  beautifully created a princess bridal look  for herself choosing the dress with a corseted top, cinched waist and cathedral length train, accessorized with classy tiara & jewelry, enhanced by  subtle make-up. As she  looked impeccable on the biggest day of her life in that classy & elegant bridal style she chose for herself, I thought why not share some of her wedding pictures  including few from her engagement (here she rocks a black mini dress and red shoes) in my blog.

So here they are, enjoy the pictures and do share your thoughts about the look by commenting below!

My first style icon and the most beautiful woman - my mum

Every girl or should I say every fortunate girl grows up seeing her mother dress up, put make up on and do all the girlie stuffs that a woman would do when she grows up, I am no different! I remember seeing of my mum while growing up , playing with her make up and getting dressed up in her clothes when she was away and that too without her knowing anything. Yes mum, I was a naughty or rather say a curious child and played with your stuffs when you were not home!
My fascination for Saree (a traditional Nepali costume) began when I was a very little girl, watching my mum carry it off so gracefully. I have never seen her wear anything else except Saree and she used tolook absolutely beautiful with less or no makeup, she still does! Simplicity was her style and natural beauty was her asset.
Today  on  mother's day,  (it's the official mother's day in Nepal) I wanted to recreate her style as I have in my  memory  from one of her old  pictures. I wish I had that picture to upload it here but I don't. I am not as beautiful as her but I hope I managed to resemble her in some way though my family say I don't look like her at all. Nevertheless, I got another opportunity to play around with make up & clothes, click some pictures and cherish some of my childhood memories.

I dedicate this post  to my mum who is my first style icon, who I consider the most beautiful woman in the world and I am pretty sure that every girl feels the same about their mum!

Classic 70's style

My bling blings!

I took some pictures after I took off all my accessories, Saree is statement piece in itself!!!
