Cobalt Blue and Fuchsia with pink leopard

It’s the last day of summer and cold weather has already found a way to break into our lives. We didn’t see many sunny days this summer as weather was mostly wet and somewhat chilly. Nevertheless, weather last weekend was absolutely beautiful and as the day was bright and sunny, I wanted to incorporate that warmth and brightness into my outfits as well.

Mixing colours is fun yet can be challenging when dressing up. This is the first time I’m wearing two bold colours at once; it was quite scary but I wanted to take that risk. Cobalt blue (electric blue) has been one of my favourite colours to wear this season while I have always loved Fuchsia (bright pink). Here, I paired an oversized Fuchsia Blazer with Cobalt blue skinny jeans; quite bold paring! I wanted to tone down the boldness of this colour combination so added pink & black leopard print scarf. This scarf is an attention grabber and it instantly balances my entire look by taking some of the focus away from cobalt blue and fuchsia colour blocking. I kept rest of my accessories neutral with black wedges and black tote which helped to bring this look together.

I felt that the vibrant and gorgeous mix of colours kind of helped amplify my entire personality, making me realize the power of colour!

Sixtes' Glam

I hope everyone had fun watching Oscars today. As they say red carpet is the new runway, I love watching the red carpet. Fashion and style is always spectacular and something to look forward to; I find it very inspirational! Btw, I’m writing this post as I’m watching the awards in between commercials!

Last weekend I did a fun shoot inspired by 60’s glamour. One of the very famous styles in 1960s was the little black dress accessorized with pearls or diamonds, very glamorous, sophisticated and lady like. I thought it would be cool to bring back that 60's glamour through my post. I just love everything about this look, the classic bouffant hairdo, luscious lashes, thick winged eyeliner, and black gloves; they all add so much glamour to a simple LBD. I styled this LBD which I wear to work inspired by Audrey Hepburn's look in the movie Breakfast at Tiffany's. Her LDB is perhaps the most famous little black dress of all time; in fact her entire look in that scene is one of the most iconic looks ever. Here, I accessorized my LBD with pearl jewellery, long black globes, black purse and a pair of classic pumps. I must mention that my makeup artist Tia Vu did an amazing job with my makeup and hair, without which I wouldn't have been able to pull of this style so easily. I had so much fun doing this shoot, hope you’ll enjoy the pictures.

Gotta love Swinging 60's

Style ChecKk - Anisha Shrestha part 2

As promised in the previous post (here) I'm back with 2nd look of the photo shoot with my friend Anisha Shrestha (sorry I forgot to introduce her in my first post).

This time we worked with a one piece blue strapless dress, it's more of a casual beachside wear. We styled this very casual frock with a brown skinny belt and brown block heels to give it a dressier feel. Heels can turn any casual day time frock into a dressier piece while brown accessories give any look an earthy feel which is perfect for daytimes. Big hoop earrings can transform any bland look into a fabulous and fashionable one, so here we added a pair of big silver hoop earnings to give stylish touch to this look. This is a casual day time look which has a boho chic vibe to it and is  perfect to take a stroll in the beach (obviously not in sand) or garb few drinks in the bar after a relaxing day at the beach.

Style ChecKk- Anisha Shrestha

It's been a while since I wrote my first Style Checkk post. (remember that post, check it here) It's a whole new experience when you get to work behind the camera and let all your creative juices flow for a change! I had so much fun shooting with my friend this weekend. She is such a sweet and pretty girl that basically very thing looks good on her. Nevertheless, we put together two looks for the shoot, one for the night and other was more of a daytime time look.

The first one is very much like city chic look; basic black skinny jeans paired with a dressier black top and black platform pumps. As she is really petite, this monochromatic colour scheme, i.e. wearing back from head to toe, gives her an appearance of taller looking silhouette. The top has really nice silver detailing in the neckline which makes it perfect for night time. This kind of statement tops are a great option for those who don’t like wearing chunky statement necklaces. With a whole lot of black going on, we added a pop of colour to this look with a turquoise envelope clutch. A dainty tiffany pendant and channel logo earrings complete the look giving it a classy and sophisticated feel. I totally love this look on her, she is all set to head out for fun night out or a romantic date with that special someone, what do you think?

Keep an eye on my blog for her next look!

Wild yet Tamed

Hi everyone, today's post is about my favourite accessory; shoes and my all time favourite print; animal print! Recently I scored these gorgeous tiger print leather platform wedge pump by NUDE from Styletread . I love  shoes by Nude, they have stylish yet very comfortable shoes, perfect for me.These pumps are almond toed which is very classic and the print & colour is really subtle & understated unlike some of the animal print shoes. I got these pumps for my 9 to 5 work life but they are so comfy and so versatile that I can take it from day to night or desk to date.

Here I'm experimenting to create few different looks with one thing in common i.e. my tiger print pumps!

Spicing up work wear: These pumps inject fashion and glamour to my plain & boring grey suit.

Girly and Trendy: A perfect pop of print with my LBD for that girl’s night out or quite time with some special.

Casual Chic: A simple tee and jeans with these pumps is casual yet chic, great for weekends!

The best thing about animal prints is that they add instant glamour and style to any simple look. I think every stylish girl must own at least a piece of this print be it a pair of shoes, a dress, a blouse, a scarf or a bag; in my case I have it all!

Going Vintage with Pink Hues & Lace

I hope everybody had /is having a good Valentines Day. I thought I'd do a quick post on this Valentines Day, a day when we celebrate and express love a little more than rest of the days. To me the colour pink represents unconditional love and romance. It is a color that we get by toning down the passion of red with the purity of white, Pink is the soft and sweet side of red. So what else could be a better color to wear on V-day to show that delicate and romantic side of you other than pink? This mauve pink lace dress I am wearing is inspired by the romantic spirit of Valentines Day. The color is so soft & romantic and the lace details give that vintage feel which I absolutely adore.

Continuing the color blocking theme of Pink and Purple from the earlier post, I accessorised my look with a pair of purple earrings and a purple flower head piece. The nude pumps and brown belt give this look bit of a modern vibe without taking away the vintage feel. I think this look is perfect for any romantic occasion or whenever you feel like being little girlie and sophisticated.

Happy Valentines Day to you all.
