Feeling grey

As Sydney's weather gets colder, we get more opportunities to play with winter wardrobe pieces and cozy knitwear is one of them. This light grey sweater from Topshop is my go to piece currently as it is so soft, cozy and can be worn over just  about anything. For this outfit, I paired it a pink dress worn as a top over my leather pants. I added a pair of grey tiger print heels and some statement earrings to complete the look. I love two things about this outfit and that is combination of knitwear and leather and color combination of grey and pink.  A simple look with a bit of an edge, easy to put together.

Winter Pastels

It's autumn here in Sydney  but that didn't stop me from wearing pretty pastels. I know pastels are normally associated with  spring season, however they are equally wearable during autumn and winter. I found this really pretty pastel pink & grey coat at Topshop  recently which inspired me to put this outfit together.  Also, I took inspiration from Sonam Kapoor's look below (which is very Tiffanyandco inspired) for mixing pearls and mint green color. Btw, if you don't know, she is a Bollywood actress; extremely pretty and very stylish.

Today, I'm doing a haul of items I grabbed at the dress for success charity event (please read my post regarding the event here) I am just posting pictures of some of my favorite picks. Talking about favorite picks, the most favorite was a Christian Louboutin kitten heels in green. Seriously, it was the best buy ever. Anyways enjoy the pictures!

Charity Shopping Event - Bubbles and Bargain

Last year, I got introduced to a charity based in Sydney called Dress for Success which outfits disadvantaged women in high quality professional attire and provides practical advice in preparation for job interviews, for free. They organize various events through out the year for fund raising, one of which is a sale event called Bubbles and Bargain. I got the opportunity to volunteer for the event last year in October and this year in mid April which not only allowed me to work with some very generous people but also witness a fantastic sale event with unbelievable bargains!

Railway Crossing

Finally I managed to edit some photos from my current Prabal Gurung printed cardigan styling obsession. I went to Hunter Valley during my birthday weekend about 2 weeks ago and these pictures were taken on the way. We stopped for a coffee break at this very interesting cafe called the Railway Crossing, it was right at the corner of an actual railway crossing hence the name. I was so fascinated by the rugged and antique interior of the cafe, it was so different and interesting. The owner had turned the trash into treasure and used unwanted and worn out pieces beautifully to give his cafe a unique look. I was especially drawn into this particular piece, it was an old kerosene stove which reminded me of my time back in the days when I used to live in Nepal. We used to use those stoves for cooking and I believe they are still used in Nepal by many families but here, it was an antique decorative piece in a coffee shop.

It took me a while to edit photos as mentioned in my previous post. The pictures posted here are from what I called the dressy look as it's more put together and very girly with some pink accents. I basically paired my PG cardigan with a fun and feminine black skirt, tucked it  in and a added a pink belt for a polished look. For other accessories, I added a statement necklace, neon pink pumps and a quilted black purse to complete the look! I loved the way how this outfit turned out and I was twirling around in my skirt and heels!

Casual Vs Dressy (Preview)

Here's a quick preview of my next blog; currently i'm editing the photos. I styled my Prabal Gurung cardigan from the previous post into two different ways, one being casual and other being more dressy. More photos and outfit details to follow.

Stay stylish!

Black and White Cardigan

When the designer Prabal Gurung announced his collaboration with Target, I knew that I had to own  some of his creations. His designs are always so beautiful and inspirational;  this was the perfect time to own few of his designs as I couldn't have afforded otherwise .  It was really overwhelming to see all his gorgeous designs for such an affordable price and I just loved all the pieces from his collection. Since I had to get the items shipped from US, I could not buy everything as I wanted  to, instead, I just settled for two; one of  which is featured on my blog today-  "The black and white cardigan in Meet the Parents Print".

Couple photography

I wouldn't call myself a professional  photographer but every now and then, I like to put my camera in use and experiment with it. This time around, I tried my hands on couple photography. My very good friend(she was featured on my blog before) is getting married and I thought it would be a good idea to do a pre-wedding/engagement photo shoot for her and her fiance and they happily agreed. We didn't have much time to prepare so we just worked with what we had. The day before the shoot, I discussed how and where we are going to carry out the shoot and helped them pick their outfits.

All black in lace and velvet

Hope everyone is having a fabulous Easter long weekend, I am having a very relaxing 4 days off from work which feels amazing! Just wanted to do a quick post about my outfit I wore the other night. After wearing all white in my previous post I went for an all black outfit mixing lace and velvet; two very feminine and luxurious fabrics works wonders when mixed together. I am absolutely in love with this hi low lace skirt that I got from Topshop, the sheer lace adds a bit of fun and sensuality to this otherwise simple skirt. I paired this skirt with a very lux velvet blouse and velvet pumps that I got from my recent trip to Singapore, it's by Charles &  Keith.(very popular and affordable brand in Singapore) To finish off the look, I added a statement ring and an intricate lace necklace that compliments my lace bottom very well.

White, gold and glitter

Pic from 2009
After B&W and  monochrome black, monochrome white is my all time favorite style, simply because it’s so crisp and refreshing look to wear that doesn't really require much effort to pull off.  As I was flicking through my old photos, I came across this particular photo wearing an all white outfit which  inspired to do a post on this particular style. As much as I love wearing all white, it’s a little high maintenance and less forgiving than black or dark colors, (if you are the curvier side) so it’s not my go to outfit, but I occasionally do opt for this style.

Skirt Styles

Let me start by wishing all my readers a very happy new year even though it’s already end of February but as you know I've been away from the blogosphere for more than 3 months (wow really that long?) I guess its ok for me to wish now? Ok no, I didn't quit blogging as some of you might have thought, I just got a little busy with travelling and personal stuffs so I took a mini break from blogging. Last year in November, I travelled to Kathmandu, Nepal (my home town) to visit my family and friends for about 6 weeks and on the way, we stopped over in Singapore for few days as well. As I wanted to spend much time as possible enjoying my holiday rather than spend hours on computer & internet, I thought taking a break might be a good idea. Also, Kathmandu’s slow internet speed and 12 hours of power cutting didn't help me much to carry on with my blogging. Anyways, now as I'm back and all settled, (it kinda took a long time for me to get over my vacation phase) I thought I’ll start blogging again.
